Söderbergföretagen, the parent company of Blinkfyrar, has acquired a majority stake in Normi Group.

Normi Group has signed a deal with the Swedish Söderbergföretagen, a family-owned business, for the sale of majority stakes in all the group’s companies. The current management of Normi Group will stay to develop the group’s operations after the sale and remain co-owners of Normivalaistus Oy.

Normi is an intelligent transport specialist

The new owner of Normi Group, Söderbergföretagen J AB, is a family-owned business established in 1995 that manages industrial and technology trading enterprises. Its Blinkfyrar company is Sweden’s largest road sign manufacturer and a leading traffic safety solution supplier in its industry.

Blinkfyrar and Normi Group share a long history of fruitful cooperation. Söderbergföretagen has been impressed by the growth of Normi Group in recent years and is seeking to upgrade its intelligent transport systems (ITS) portfolio.

“We’re focusing on the changes and digitalisation of society, cities, and road traffic. Among other things, the strengths of ITS allow us to satisfy future requirements, promote a more sustainable society, and improve traffic safety,” says Elisabeth Nagy, Managing Director at Blinkfyrar.

Opportunity for market expansion

The total net sales of Söderbergföretagen’s infrastructure business segment amount to approximately €60m, and ITS is seen to hold great future potential and an opportunity for market expansion.

“In recent years, we’ve observed some caution from market operators, but now is the time to invest in improved traffic safety. This makes the timing of the deal better than ever,” says Mattias Sonnenfeld, Managing Director at Söderbergföretagen.

Normi Group’s Managing Director Tommi Saarni is pleased with the acquisition and finds clear added value in it for customers.

“Normi Group and Blinkfyrar possess unique products, innovation, and high professional skill. Together, we will be able to create even more value for our customers,” says Saarni.
